Tapeworm parasite found in swedish fox

(Feb 15, 2011) For the first time the deadly parasite Tapeworm has been found in Sweden. It was discovered in a fox in Bohuslän in southwestern Sweden and if more animals test positive with the parasite swedes may have to change their habits.

Pets may have to be vaccinated in the future and it may also be impossible to eat berries frechly picked in the forest.

According to the Local, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control and other agencies are expected to develop an action plan for how to manage the parasite's entry into Sweden.
